Qualification Summary
Tier Two Clinical Care Provider: This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: Must meet all of the following requirements as outlined in SECNAVINST 1754.7A: Tier Two. 1. State or U.S. territory license or certification that provides legal authority to provide clinical services as an independent practitioner.
2. When the state or U.S. territory licensing or certification requirements include a written examination, candidates for privileging, must have achieved a passing score on that examination.
A. Possess at least a master’s degree in one of following clinical fields:
a. Marriage and Family Therapy from a program accredited by Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education or an equivalent degree, OR
b. Social Work from a school accredited by Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) or an equivalent degree, OR
c. Psychology from a doctoral program approved by APA or an equivalent degree.
Have engaged in 2 years, that includes at least 2,000 hours, full-time, post-masters supervised clinical experience. Note: Your resume must support your answer and you must submit appropriate documents for verification (i.e. licensure, certification, transcripts, etc.) Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess For the 0180 series: Satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master’s degree directly related to counseling psychology is required. For the 0185 series: A Master’s Degree in social work which fulfills all of the requirements for the master’s degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Identifying personal and social problems to independently reach accurate conclusions and to provide appropriate solutions; 2) Clinically responding to the needs of clients including assessing suicidal/homicidal situations and domestic and child abuse situations; and 3) Documenting psycho-social assessments, treatment plans, and case review committee reports.
