Qualification Summary
Applicant must have one year experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-13), which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.To qualify for the GS-14:One year of specialized experience is defined as experience of federal information technology standards, policies, and handbooks, all operating systems, IT system vulnerabilities, attack characteristics, and security monitoring products and evaluating the impact of cybersecurity products and services on operations; experience in programming to develop software tools such as: systems administration and security controls systems used for vulnerability scanning, patch management, incident response, and other cybersecurity operation tool sets; experience of methods and procedures for analyzing systems compromised by malware, inappropriate use, illegal activities or other issues; experience of IT Security processes and forensics analysis, systems security policies, guidelines, procedures and regulations for systems; experience working in a heterogeneous computer operating system and networked environment and ability to conduct analysis and recommend resolution complex issues.In addition to the above specialized experience, applicants must have IT related experience demonstratingeach of the four competencies listed below: Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies below:1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.2. Business Relationship Management – Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; is committed to providing quality products and services.3. Oral Communication – Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.4. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
