To qualify at the GS-9 grade level, you must meet one of the following minimum qualification requirements: Specialized Experience: at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-7) in Federal Service that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes assisting with legal research for case development, documentation, and resolution; obtaining necessary information from a variety of sources, such as, potential witnesses, claimants and experts; utilizing legal and factual resource tools sufficient to assist with investigating, analyzing, and resolving issues in assigned work area; and preparing memoranda, briefs, legal opinions, and/or written documents needed in the delivery of accurate, timely and effective legal services. NOTE: Your experience must be fully documented in your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week. ~OR~ Education: Successfully completed two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position that is in a related field of study. This education must have been obtained at an accredited college or university. NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with your application materials. Education cannot be credited without documentation. ~OR~ Combination: Equivalent combination of successfully completed graduate level education and specialized experience, as described above, which meets the total experience requirements for this grade level.
