Qualification Summary
Applicants will be evaluated on their ability to perform the duties of the position rather than the length of experience. Eligibility will be determined by the relevance, scope, and quality of all experience and training, regardless of where or how acquired.Applicants will be rated and ranked based on their knowledge of the following job elements: Ability to do the work of the position without greater than normal supervision (SCREENOUT).
Ability to operate cranes at all boom lengths, angles and positions and be skilled in making rapid lifting capacity judgements during continual position changes.
Ability to perform work outdoors and indoors occasionally at high heights, often in a partially enclosed crane cab in all types of weather.
Ability to lift loads weighing up to 75 pounds without assistance and carry objects weighing 45 pounds over considerable distance.
Ability to interpret and apply requirements contained in technical manuals, shop directives, multi-view blueprints, sketches, work orders specifications and other documents in determining critical dimensions and key reference points to plan National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
