MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
A. Degree: economics, that included 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting or calculus.ORB.Combination of education and experience-courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
To be creditable, the education MUST have been completed at an accredited college or university. Such education MUST be related to the position being filled.Copies of transcripts MUST be submitted.
In addition to the educational requirement, applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. GS-05, in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
SUBSTITUTION OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: applicants may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
GS-07 substitution of education for experience- One year (1) of graduate-level education or superior academic achievement. Specialized Experience for GS-07: Examples of qualifying experience include routine preparation for statistical surveys, the tabulation and processing of data, the routine posting from secondary sources, the preparation of simple charts, tables, etc.
