Yes, roughly two years ago, Cougar Hunter announced the end of its glam metal reign. The end came with a huge show, and now, the band is back. Nothing has been offered by way of an explanation for the return. Yet, area fans are not complaining. The weekend of Nov. 1, the band will play two nights at Mitchell’s Sports & Neighborhood Grill in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Shows on both nights will begin at 9:30 p.m.
On Friday, Nov. 1, Cougar Hunter will play a Motley Crue tribute set that fans of either band should see. Saturday, Nov. 2 will find the reigning kings of raunch (at least in Fort Wayne, Indiana) playing a variety of hair metal hits that allow them to show off an arsenal of talent, that along with their stage presence, makes a Cougar Hunter show one worth seeing.
The one and only Cougar Hunter
Fort Wayne has been incubating bands of various sort for decades. However, in a musical era that is devoid of guitar solos and Spandex, Cougar Hunter brings both. Seriously, though: Cougar Hunter displays the necessary talent for re-creating the sights and sounds of 1980s glam metal.
The popularity of glam metal remains relatively high, given that its heyday technically ended 30 years ago. There is no expiration date on how long audiences will remember an era and long for the songs that meant so much to them. Cougar Hunter brings the unabashed fun and musical hijinks of the 1980s to life for people who lived through the 1980s once and for those who wish they had.
For those planning to attend the Cougar Hunter show at Mitchell’s, be prepared for big riffs and even bigger hair. An entire weekend of Cougar Hunter is certain to be memorable.
Mitchell’s is located at 6179 W. Jefferson Blvd. in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
