Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience directly related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience must be described for each grade level advertised. The specialized experience requirements for this position are: At the GS-12: Qualifying experience for GS-12 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-11 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience in writing digital communications content, including for the Web, mobile and digital platforms; using web authoring practices and presentation techniques to communicate to a broad audience via Web and digital platforms; generating website user statistics and analytics; creating and maintaining web pages according to organizational guidelines; managing relationships with stakeholders and customers. At the GS-13: Qualifying experience for GS-13 includes one year of specialized experience comparable to GS-12 which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, specialized experience is experience managing the day-to-day operations of a communications team to implement general web communications; specialized experience in developing and executing project plans and/or communications campaigns/plans; developing information architecture and customer-focused content organization for a multifaceted organizational website; incorporating mobile-first digital strategies that align with organizational goals; and ensures published web content is accurately written. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
