In order to be eligible for an appointment under the Pathways Internship Program: You must be a student accepted for enrollment or enrolled in a degree or certificate program on a full- or half-time basis as defined by the school (certificate program means post-secondary education, in a qualifyingeducational institution, equivalent to at least one academic year of full-time study that is part of an accredited college-level, technical, trade, vocational, or business school curriculum); and
Enrollment is with a qualifying educational institution such as a high school or state-approved home school; or accredited technical or vocational school; a 2- or 4-year college or university; a graduate or professionalschool (e.g., law school, medical school); or a post-secondary home school curriculum.
Students currently enrolled must be in good academic standing maintaining a 2.0 grade point average on a cumulative basis.

Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-02 level:
**Three months of general experience that is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
**ORhigh school graduation or the equivalent. Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-03 level:
**Six months of general experience that is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
**ORone full year of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite.
**ORa combination of successfully completed post-high school education, as described above, and general experience, as described above.(ClickHerefor Details on How to Combine Education and Experience)
**ORcompletion of an intensive, specialized course of study of less than 1 year may meet in full the experience requirements for the GS-3 level. Courses of this type normally require completion of up to 40 hours per week of instruction rather than 20 hours per week, and are usually of at least 3 months in duration. Such courses may have been obtained through a variety of programs such as those offered by business or technical schools, and through military training programs. **To be creditable, such a course must have been designed specifically as career preparation for the work of the position being filled, and must have provided the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work.
