Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
A. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of education and experience — courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. FOR THE GS-12 GRADE LEVEL: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 in the Federal service, providing technical assistance on implementation and management of School Improvement Program strategies to school administrators, teachers and other educators to meet the goals and objectives to improve student achievement; collaborate with leadership, educators on implementing instructional planning, curriculum, staff development and teaching methods aligned with federal and state standards; assist with collecting and analysis of data and identified academic issues of concern needing school improvement; review assessment template reports and school improvement status reports for implementation and compliance of strategies on scientifically based research. FOR THE GS-13 GRADE LEVEL: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 in the Federal service serving as an analyst and advisor in the implementation and management of School Improvement Program strategies to meet the goals and objectives to improve student achievement; establishing goals, measuring results, report progress in programs in compliance with the Government Performance Results Act (GPRA); developing instructional planning, curriculum, staff development and teaching methods aligned with Common Core State Standards; review and evaluate assessment template reports and school improvement status reports for implementation and compliance of strategies on scientifically based research; evaluates policies and practices concerning the academic improvement; provides guidance of regulations to ensure individuals with disabilities an equality to improve educational results. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year (52 weeks) of service at the next lower grade level.
