Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Custodial Worker without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element, applicants should document experience or show the ability to do the following: performing cleaning duties to include mopping, dusting, and disinfecting lavatories and perform general grounds keeping maintenance to include landscaping and snow removal. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Screen OutAbility to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentDexterity and SafetyWork Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order) Physical Effort: Occasionally uses heavy powered cleaning equipment (e.g., industrial type buffers). Occasionally experts moderately heavy physical effort such as that required in lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50-pounds, requiring continuous standing, bending, stooping and reaching. Requires working on ladders/scaffold in the performance of some duties. Working Conditions: Usually works indoors in areas which are adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritation from strong cleaning solutions. Care must be taken to avoid serious injury when working on ladders and scaffolds or when using heavy powered equipment.
