BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Degree: Social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master’s degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below-GS-12: One (1) year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-11 grade level. Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Specialized Experience for the GS-12: Experience in ensuring a streamlined, effective and accountable utilization of resource throughout the area served. Experience in identifying trends and problems and resolving problems between programs and administration. Experience in consulting with Tribal Governments in formulating, planning and executing of the fiscal budget for an Area Office or Regional Office. Experience in working directly with or managing programs for families, addictions, suicide prevention and awareness, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders diagnostic issues, concurring mental health and substance abuse issues. Experience in supervising, planning, directing, and evaluating overall activities in a department. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires a current, unrestricted license U.S. State license as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Certified Independent Social Worker (CISW) or a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and considered a Licensed Independent Practitioner You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
