Qualification Summary
The ideal candidate for this position must demonstrate in their resume:1. Knowledge of the design features and operating characteristics of nuclear reactor facilities by describing professional experience with reactor facilities, commercial, government, or military. This experience may have been as a power plant operator, in a staff position in operations, or associated with plant operations.2. Demonstrated experience in applying the theories, principles, and practices of engineering to the design, construction, and/or operation of nuclear power plants by describing substantive experience in applying engineering knowledge to nuclear power plant design, construction, or operation, and/or to inspection of nuclear power plant operations.3. Professional experience with problem identification and resolution by describing instances where problem-solving and conflict resolution skills were demonstrated to be especially effective. Describe experiences in root cause analysis or investigations of equipment or performance problems, or similar analytical studies of operational events, safety deficiencies, or malfunctions. Describe two or three examples of the most complex or controversial problems resolved and how they were approached.4. Demonstrated ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing. This includes demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with supervisors, government and industry officials, utility employees and managers, government committees, co-workers, media personnel, NRC officials and senior managers, as well as the ability to write technical reports containing findings, analyses, and conclusions.
