Experience Required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least four years of experience in contracting/procurement or related positions with at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: knowledge of the Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR), Department of Defense FAR Supplement, and Dept. of Army FAR Supplement; supervising a staff of contracting professionals to accomplish the organizations mission; developing and maintaining contract policies and procedures; and planning overall work operations, setting priorities and establishing objectives. Education Requirement: ALL applicants must meet one of the following in addition to experience requirements. Your resume and/or transcripts MUST show proof. Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees AND at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. (This requirement can be obtained within the degree or in addition to the degree. You must include a copy of your transcripts). A current civilian, Department of Defense (DoD) employee occupying a GS-1102 Contracting position with authority to award or administer contracts above with the simplified acquisition threshold in DoD, AND have been in this type of contracting position since September 30, 2000. A current DoD employee not in a GS-1102 position, but who occupied a GS/equivalent-1102 position or contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the SAT in any Federal agency prior to September 30, 2000. A current member of the armed forces who occupied a position within an occupational specialty to the GS-1102 series on or before September 30, 2000.
