In order be eligible for the position of Economist, (GS-0110-12/13), you must meet the following requirements. Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. OR Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: GS-12 You must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, to include determining research methods, compiling and analyzing relevant economic data, and making recommendations; conducting evaluations and outcome studies; and developing various technical or analytical reports and presenting clear technical findings. GS-13 You must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, to include analyzing data using economic methods, such as benefit cost analysis, cost effectiveness or marginal analysis, and identifying implications of the findings as they relate to the tobacco industry or other regulated industries; and/or experience presenting research summaries and other technical reports to a variety of groups and individuals.
