For The GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying hazard control techniques affecting the safety and occupational health programs of the organization; 2) Preparing safety and occupational reports outlining the origin, root cause, or contributing elements of mishaps and/or hazardous conditions; 3) Advising the organization on safety and occupational health awareness; 4) Evaluating safety organizational/program processes. For The GS-09: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing: 1) Responsible for safety resource management and/or planning; 2) Recommends short and long term financial planning; 3) Monitors budget execution as it relates to safety program goals; 4) Provides technical safety training to workplace supervisors and/or employees using a wide variety of materials, publications, exhibits, and visual aids.
