Qualification Summary
For The GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying hazard control techniques affecting the safety and occupational health programs of the organization; 2) Preparing safety and occupational reports outlining the origin, root cause, or contributing elements of mishaps and/or hazardous conditions; 3) Advising the organization on safety and occupational health awareness; 4) Evaluating safety organizational/program processes. For The GS-09: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing: 1) Responsible for safety resource management and/or planning; 2) Recommends short and long term financial planning; 3) Monitors budget execution as it relates to safety program goals; 4) Provides technical safety training to workplace supervisors and/or employees using a wide variety of materials, publications, exhibits, and visual aids. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
