Qualification Summary
Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized experience is defined as performing at least 2 out of the 3 following duties: 1) utilizing automated office software to create documents, spreadsheets, or reports; or 2) entering data into an automated financial management system; or 3) performing administrative support duties for an office, such as travel arrangements, timekeeping, or file maintenance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). Education Substitution for Experience:Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definitions below:1) Bachelor’s or equivalent degree or have completed a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to such a degree, in an accredited college or university. -OR- 2) Combination of education and experience-Less than three years of experience as described in the experience statement for the GS-05 may be combined with less than four years of undergraduate education as described above. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of undergraduate education by 30. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
