GS-9 Enlisted 42A only; Warrant 420A; Officer 42B, or 42H GENERAL EXPERIENCE: GS-7 Must possess administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate’s ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems. GS-9 Must possess experiences gained through military or civilian technical training schools, within the human resources business programs, are included as general experience qualifications. An applicant must have a validated understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-7 Must possess at least 12 months experience in the interpretation and application of regulations, procedures or laws. Experience that provided a working knowledge of administrative functions. Experience performing personnel transactions. Experience working independently and setting priorities with very little supervisory control. GS-9 Must possess at least 12 months of specialized experiences at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. Must have a basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. Have knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. Experienced in using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments. Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data. Experienced in operating a computer and using varied computer programs. *You must list specific dates (DAY/MONTH/YEAR – DAY/MONTH/YEAR) with experience on resume to be considered. NOTE: Your application must contain a DETAILED description of both civilian and military experience as it relates to the general and specialized experience requirements. Substitution of Education for specialized experience – Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university will satisfy the requirements for GS-4 positions. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience for GS-5 positions. *If you are using Education to qualify for this position, you must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims.
