TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. One year at the GS-13 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 level.(Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the 07/08/2019 the of the announcement. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Degree: Must have a bachelor’s or higher degree in cartography; or a major that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in cartography and/or directly related science, and related mathematics. Such course work includes, but is not limited to, cartography, astronomy, geodesy, photogrammetry, physical and geological oceanography, computer science, land surveying, geophysics, physical geography, and remote sensing. The 30 semester hours must have included at least 6, but no more than 15, semester hours of college level, non-business mathematics or statistics (i.e., college level algebra, trigonometry, calculus, or scientific mathematics or statistics requiring equivalent college-level courses as prerequisites);
Combination of Education and Experience: Must have a combination of education and experience- have completed courses equivalent to a major in cartography, or a major that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in cartography, and/or directly related science, and related mathematics, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. In addition to meeting one of the Basic Requirements listed above, applicants must meet the following Minimum Qualifications Requirement in order to be considered: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience and/or education for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying: GS-13
Specialized Experience: One or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties: Developing business requirements for geospatial imagery technologies; Assisting in developing a budget for imagery technologies; Assisting in drafting business plans for imagery technologies; Reviewing and evaluating imagery products; AND Assisting in developing technical standards or cost-effective procedures in the application of soil science, plant science, hydrology, geology or other related disciplines for imagery technologies. GS-14
Specialized Experience: One or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties: Advising geospatial specialists or program leaders in developing business requirements for imagery; Developing a budget for imagery technologies; Drafting business plans for imagery technologies; Leading a team in the review and evaluation of imagery products; AND Developing technical standards or cost-effective procedures in the application of soil science, plant science, hydrology, geology or other related disciplines for imagery technologies.
