SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS-A qualified candidate’s online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federalservice.Applicants may qualify for this position based on a combination of education or specialized experience depending on the grade level you are applying for. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position being filled.In addition to the basic eligibility requirements, applicants must have the following specialized experience and/or directly related education or a combination:Specialized experience is paid or unpaid experience which has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position in the practical application of professional accounting and auditing principles, procedure, and techniques.At the GS-9 level the applicant must have 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’sdegree or master’s or equivalent graduate degree; OR 1 yearof specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-7. Specialized experience includes experience in verifying reports against source accounts and records, reconciling accounts and verifying the detail of recorded transactions; preparing routine work papers; and researching laws, regulations guidelines and procedures.At the GS-11 level the applicant must have 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-9.h.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education OR 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-9. Specialized experience includes experience in conducting segments of audits; conducting interviews; participating in opening and exit conferences; and collecting, analyzing, and summarizing evidence to support audit conclusions.At the GS-12 level the applicant must have1 year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS-11. Specialized experience includes experience in planning, conducting and reporting on segments of large audits and preparing written documentation outlining the scope and nature of the work performed.The successful applicant for this position will possess the following KSAs /competencies: (Applicants need not prepare written responses to these KSAs, unless asked in the online application). Knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and techniques.
Skillto conduct multiple segments of complex audits.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
