Qualification Summary
In order to qualify for this position you must meet the following qualifications. Screen Out Element: You MUST have the ability to perform the duties of a Materials Handler without more than normal supervision? Related experience includes: performing warehousing activities as it relates to sanitation and also to kitchen and food safety, inspecting all subsistence and supplies for product quality, packaging and compliance to specifications; verifying all deliveries for amounts received compared to orders; performing inventory of all frozen/refrigerated foods, other subsistence items and operating supplies. (*If you answer yes to this question, your experience must be documented in your resume to receive full credit) AND PHYSICAL EFFORT AND WORK CONDITIONS: Must be able to carry, and/or lift large food containers and move heavily loaded carts. Frequently lifts or moves items weighing up to 40 pounds. Work requires continuous standing, walking and bending and working in tiring or uncomfortable positions. Must be able to work under pressure of established time frames. Work requires that employee walk on slippery floors that are in, above, or below normal temperatures; and is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, and/or falls. Work requires wearing protective clothing such as safety shoes, gloves, and insulated clothing. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for. Your knowledge, skills and abilities will be compared to the knowledge, skills and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1). Applicants who appear to meet the screen out element are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated from consideration. The potential eligibles are rated against the remainder of the job elements. While a specific length of training and experience is not required, your responses to the questionnaire must be supported by detailed descriptions of your experience on your resume.
