Experience: You qualify for the WG-10 grade level if you have experience: troubleshooting and repairing a variety of automotive systems such as engines, transmission and gear reduction systems, transaxles, drive line and rear axle assemblies, electrical and electronic systems, fuel injection systems, emission control systems, braking systems, hydraulic and other assemblies. interpreting and applying manufacturer’s repair manuals, schematics, diagnostic codes and safety manuals sufficient to accomplish these tasks and be familiar with all tools, equipment, and materials used by automotive mechanics. In addition to the experience described above you must also have the ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. This means you must be able to work independently, make decisions, accept job responsibility, exercise initiative and plan operations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process by 06/03/2019.
