Qualification Summary
In order to qualify for this position you must meet the Basic Education Requirement by having successfully completed an undergraduate or graduate degree with a major in either a) Engineering from a college or university that has an ABET accredited engineering program or b) Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science, Computer Science, or other fields of science. The degree must have been received in the year of, or any year subsequent to the original date of accreditation. To find out if a school has an ABET accreditation, go to ABET accredited schools (http://www.abet.org). You must list your major(s), related coursework, and GPA.Degrees in engineering technology are not considered to be qualifying for this position.In addition:To qualify at the GS-11 grade level you must satisfy one of the following requirements: One (1) year of professional, directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as Experience in the design, development, testing, analysis or assessment of communications, navigation or remote sensing systems (satellite, aeronautical and terrestrial).Experience in the determination of interference susceptibility from, and impact to, other systems or services sharing the radio frequency or optical spectrum. Experience using relevant engineering software tools such as STK, MATLAB, ExcelVBA, Spectrum XXI, and Visualyse. OR2. Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field.OR3. Completed 3 full academic years of graduate education in an appropriate field.OR4. Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate education as discussed in items 1, 2 and 3 above.
