Current DoDEA Excepted Service Employees In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirements for Chief of Instructional Leadership Development: Education: Doctoral degree in Educational administration, Educational Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Research, or another related education field. This education must include coursework in all of the following areas: Instructional Leadership; Supervision of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment; Organizational Performance; Human Resources Talent Management/Labor Relations; Communications and Community Relations; Digital Technology for Teaching or Learning/Virtual School; School Data Management and Quantitative Data Analysis; Education of Cultural/Global Diverse Populations; Supervision of Curriculum Professional Development and Design; Leadership and Product Development for Professional Learning; Instructional Design Practices.
OR
Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, Learning and Design (Staff Development), or another related education field AND at least 30 graduate semester hours of additional study in Educational Leadership, Instructional Supervision, and Administration beyond the Master’s degree. This education must include coursework in all of the following areas: Instructional Leadership; Supervision of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment; Organizational Performance; Human Resources Talent Management/Labor Relations; Communications and Community Relations; Digital Technology for Teaching or Learning/Virtual School; School Data Management and Quantitative Data Analysis; Education of Cultural/Global Diverse Populations; Supervision of Curriculum Professional Development and Design; Leadership and Product Development for Professional Learning; Instructional Design Practices. And General Experience: At least 5 years general experience in relevant elementary or secondary school experience in teaching, educational research, development of curriculum and instructional materials, education assessment and evaluation, professional development, special education, educational administration, or comparable experience which clearly demonstrated success in applying the principles, methods, and techniques of education, and provided familiarity with current developments in teaching, learning, instructional leadership, and professional development. And Specialized Experience: At least 4 years specialized experience in a supervisory position which demonstrated the ability to administer and support PreK-12 grade curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development, or special education programs and to effectively supervise educators and support professional growth of personnel. Specialized experience must include a minimum of 3 years as: a District Superintendent; Chief Academic Officer; Chief of Instruction, Curriculum and Assessment; Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment or equivalent. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
