The grade level you qualify for is determined by meeting one of the following requirements. You will only be considered at the highest grade level for which you qualify:In addition to meeting the basic education requirements, applicants must possess one of the following:Qualification Requirements for the GS-09: a) Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-07) which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in the development and design of electronic components or systems/subsystems using analysis, simulations, and/or experimentation; OR experience assisting in the assembly, integration, and test (AIandT) for small and/or nano-satellites (e.g. electrical and environmental testing at qualification and acceptance levels). ORb) Completion of all requirements for a master’s or equivalent graduate degree in an appropriate field. ORc) Completion of two full academic years of graduate education in an appropriate field. ORd) An equivalent combination of experience and graduate study as discussed in a and b above.Qualification Requirements for the GS-11: a) Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-09) which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. Specialized experience is defined as experience in supporting the design and development of electronics engineering projects for hardware/software (Printed Circuit Board and avionics subsystems, instruments and payload systems); OR experience in providing support in the evaluation and testing of systems to verify electronics engineering projects meeting design specifications and requirements. ORb) Completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field.ORc) Completion of 3 full academic years of graduate education in an appropriate field. ORd) Have an equivalent combination of experience and graduate education as described in a and b above.
