You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.Specialized experience: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is:Overseeing physician/nursing care plans; ANDReviewing and making recommendations for improvement to the quality of overall nursing care AND
Possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or master’s degree from a professional nursing educational program.OR
Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field.SPECIAL NOTE: Long-term care experience and/or interacting with geriatric patients is highly desired.Licensure: Candidates must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. (An applicant who has graduated from an approved nursing educational program within the past 12 months may be appointed pending State registration as a professional nurse within 6 months of appointment. No person appointed pending registration may be retained beyond 6 months, or promoted, if registration has not been attained.)For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
