Specialized Experience: You must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the federal service or at an equivalent level. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) applying expertise in Federal HR operations to participate in the review and development of HR management information systems; including troubleshooting, analyzing, testing, interpreting, and developing data, processes, and requirements. 2) providing training and guidance on HR management information systems (automated Staffing and Recruitment systems, payroll processing, timekeeping and HR Management reporting); 3) developing customized reports, provide the status of operations, provide quality review and transactional compliance of HR programs, and 4) assisting HR and IT personnel in determining HR system functionalities and requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
