Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electronics Mechanic~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks such as identifying, isolating, repairing, and fabricating electronics components and equipment that is of limited complexity. I operate automatic test equipment to locate, isolate, and repair defective components. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion. – Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element)Ability To Use Hand and Power Tools – ElectronicsIngenuity (Ability To Suggest and Apply New Methods)Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Theory of ElectronicsTrouble shooting (Electronic Equipment)Use of Test Equipment: Electronics PHYSICAL EFFORT: Considerable standing and bending required when performing work at bench. Installation work requires bending, stooping, and climbing within and outside shelters. Required to lift equipment weighing up to about 40 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: Normally works inside well-lighted, heated, and ventilated shop area. Work outside is performed in good weather conditions, if possible, but is required to work in adverse weather conditions on priority items. Exposed to possibility of serious burns caused by electrical shock, RF energy, hot components, and to microwave radiation. Subject to cuts, bruises, and scrapes from handling equipment and tools. Subject to travel as a member of a maintenance team.
