THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO THE FOLLOWING AREA OF CONSIDERATION (AOC): Area of Consideration: This position is open to Category 1 Only. Category 1: All permanent On-Board Technicians employed with the South Carolina Army National Guard ( Note- Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and will not qualify for this category) Category 2: All current military (M-Day) members of the South Carolina Army National Guard Category 3: Current Nationwide National Guard Technicians. Must be willing to accept Interstate Transfer into South Carolina Army National Guard and Technician Program. Category 4: US Citizens eligible for immediate membership in the South Carolina Army National Guard. *If no referral is made from the target category(s), referrals MAY be made from subsequent categories (IF APPLICABLE)* MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state’s National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. Military Grades: Warrant Officer, Enlisted Compatible Military Assignments: 91, 94, 13B, 13Z Military Requirements- Military skill set is determined by AFSC/MOS requirements. Upon selection, individuals must be assigned to a compatible military AFSC/MOS in accordance with statutes and National Guard Bureau regulations and must obtain/maintain all requirements of the AFSC/MOS. Specific requirements are found in: references listed below, NGB Compatibility tables and your local Personnel section. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to perform mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system operations. Experience demonstrating the ability to fit and adjust parts and assemblies. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To qualify for this position your resume must definitively show that you have 18 months experience or training demonstrating a broad knowledge in repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and major components of artillery systems. Experience in diagnosing malfunctions and determining needed repairs in artillery systems. Experience demonstrating the ability to inspect artillery systems. Experience which demonstrates the ability to develop test standards. Experience interpreting and applying drawings, schematics, blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
