Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.At the GS-11 To qualify at the GS-11 level, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-10 level.Specialized Experience: Experience with aircraft structural modifications and repairs fabricating; fabricatingparts from engineering drawings with defined parameters. Work with sheet metal forming and bending of raw material into compound and complex shapes. Working with composite material for the development and modification of aircraft parts. Aircraft structural modifications and repairs; work with welding equipment to weld aircraft components and perform inspection for welded components. Experience operating Computer Numerical Controls (CNC) equipment to include sheers. Interpret engineering drawings and producing aircraft parts from drawing, sketches, or verbal instructions. Experience in manipulating aircraft pneumatic and hydraulic lines, such as bending forming lines, swaged, crimped, fittings, pressure checking pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Experience with CNC milling, press brakes, cutting equipment (water, laser, etc.) Program input, editing, machine set up and operation; following components through all fabrication processes; experience with aerospace milling specification; design engineering functions such as reviewing for manufacturability, reverse engineering of out dated and broken parts.At the GS-12To qualify at the GS-12 level, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level. Inaddition to meeting the above stated specialized experience, the applicant must also have experience leadingformally or informally a team of engineering technicians. Monitoring work to ensure quality controls andmentoring junior member of the technician team.All applicants will be rated on the following competencies: Design and Development Engineering;Engineering and Science Support; and Design and Development Engineering.
