Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Education: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a degree with major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration OR Specialized Experience: One year of progressively responsible analytical or administrative, or clinical management or supervisory experience in the health care field. This work may have been performed in an operating health care facility or a higher organizational echelon with advisory or directional authority over such facilities. Work must have involved a close working relationship with facility managers and analysis and/or coordination of administrative,clinical, or other service activities, and provided knowledge of the following: · Missions, organizations, programs, and requirements of health care delivery systems; · Regulations and standards of various regulatory and credentialing groups; and · Government-wide, agency, and facility systems and requirements in various administrative areas such as budget, personnel, and/or procurement. Specialized experience includes civilian personnel management, managing staff resources to ensure maximum patient appointment availability, and managing administrative activities of a clinic to reduce negative effects on patient care. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
