To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. For positions requiring positive education requirements, or if you are using education to meet all or part of the qualification requirements, you MUST submit a copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours, and grade/degree earned) in your resume. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Social Worker: Degree in social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master’s degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; AND, Master’s degree with practicum: Applicants who complete all of the requirements for a master’s degree in social work that included a practicum are eligible for GS-9; AND, Position requires a current, unrestricted U.S. license as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Certified Independent Social Worker (CISW). Family Mental Health Specialist: Degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position; OR, a combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field; OR, Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Provides drug and alcohol/mental health assessments and treatment plans; designs, implements and administers individual and group therapy; coordinates intake and aftercare services; documents therapeutic and clinical services. Provides brief interventions and makes proper referrals; intervenes in high risk situations. OR, Three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. Selective Placement Factor for Family Mental Health Specialist: Incumbent must be licensed as a Family and Marital Therapist and/or Counselor. The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements. If privileges are not obtained or maintained during employment, the employee will be subject to adverse actions, up to and including removal from Federal service. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet the requirements of the job by 11:59 (Eastern Standard Time) of the closing date: 06/21/2018
