Qualification Summary
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal Government. GS-6 level at the GS-7; GS-7 level at the GS-8; GS-8 level at the GS-9; GS-9 level at the GS-10; GS-10 level at the GS-11. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples include positions with substantial developmental, test or design responsibilities. Trade experience may be work which provided intensive knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, methods and precedents. OrAt least one of the following if using education to qualify at the grade level:GS-7: One full year of graduate education meets the requirements for a GS-7;GS-9: Two full years of graduate education or a master’s degree meets the requirements for GS-9.Or a combination of education and specialized experience. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
