Qualification Summary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: MUST have one (1) year of specialized experience and education directly related to the position. To be creditable, this experience and education must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service that is directly related to the position. Specialized experience includes: Experience examining and processing a full range of vouchers to include other health insurance calculations, payment authorizations and batching payment requests; Verifying claims of payments or reimbursements; Processing medical claims from providers for services provided; Interpreting medical terminology to ensure that claims are complete; Analyzing medical claims utilizing medical coding (ex. ICD-9-CM). (Resume must clearly document the experience required and support your responses to the online questionnaire to be creditable)
Four (4) years of successfully completed education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, community college, junior college, college or university. An equivalent combination of creditable experience and education as described above to meet the requirements for this position at the next lower grade level. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
