Qualification Summary
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.To qualify for the GS-7 level you must have a bachelor’s degree.-OR-One year of specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as professional working experience that included the following:-Knowledge of electrical engineering theories and application of associated concepts.-Knowledge of detailed electrical component design.-Knowledge of batteries and other energy storage technologies and chemical reactions.-Knowledge of power system electrical circuit test techniques and test instrumentation capabilities.-Knowledge of computer software applicable to engineering designs, technical writing, and presentations.-Skill in technical writing and making oral and written presentations to convey engineering data.To qualify for the GS-9 level you must have a master’s degree.-OR-A bachelor’s degree with at least 1 year of specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as professional working experience that included the following:-Knowledge of electrical engineering theories and application of associated concepts.-Knowledge of detailed electrical component design.-Knowledge of batteries and other energy storage technologies and chemical reactions.-Knowledge of power system electrical circuit test techniques and test instrumentation capabilities.-Knowledge of computer software applicable to engineering designs, technical writing, and presentations.-Skills in technical writing and making oral and written presentations to convey engineering data.To qualify for the GS-11 level you must have a Ph.D. degree.-OR-A master’s degree with at least 1 year of specialized experience. Specialized experience is defined as professional working experience that included the following:-Knowledge of the theories and applications of electrical engineering as applicable to spacecraft, including hardware development, design, electrical circuit test techniques, test instrumentation capabilities, and test result evaluations. -Knowledge and understanding of spacecraft systems and components relating to electrical systems including the integration and operational components of electrical power systems.-Knowledge of theories in utilizing cells to design batteries for human spaceflight applications.-Knowledge of other energy storage technologies such as capacitors and super capacitors and associated chemical reactions.-Knowledge of computer software applicable to engineering designs (Altium, LabView, CREO, etc.), technical writing, and presentations.-Skill in technical writing and making oral and written presentations to convey engineering data.-Knowledge of DC to DC converters.Your USAJOBS resume must include a clear and detailed narrative description, in your own words, of how you met the required specialized experience.
