All applicants must meet all qualification(i.e. Basic Education Requirement, andSpecialized Experience Requirement) and eligibility (e.g. time-in-grade, general restriction on movement after competitive appointment/time-after-competitive appointment)by the closing date ofthis vacancyannouncement. Basic Education Requirement: Degree: biological science that included at least 9 semester hours in such wildlife subjects as mammalogy, ornithology, animal ecology, wildlife management, or research courses in the field of wildlife biology; and
At least 12 semester hours in zoology in such subjects as general zoology, invertebrate zoology, vertebrate zoology, comparative anatomy, physiology, genetics, ecology, cellular biology, parasitology, entomology, or research courses in such subjects (Excess courses in wildlife biology may be used to meet the zoology requirements where appropriate.); and
At least 9 semester hours in botany or the related plant sciences; OR Combination of Education and Experience: equivalent to a major in biological science (i.e., at least 30 semester hours), with at least 9 semester hours in wildlife subjects, 12 semester hours in zoology, and 9 semester hours in botany or related plant science, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Specialized Experience Requirement: To qualify for this position, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the Federal GS- 11 level or higher, that has equipped you with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. For this position, specialized experience is defined as providing technical leadership and guidance in the development, and coordination of upland and wetland wildlife conservation programs and integration into natural resource conservation plans.
Time-in-Grade: Applicants must have completed atleast 52 weeksat the next lower grade (i.e. GS-11 forGS-12), or have heldthe same grade or higher grade levelas the one advertised in orderto be considered for this position.
