Qualification Summary
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position,you must meet the specialized experience or education requirements for the grade in which you’d like to be considered.For the GS-09, to qualify on Experience, you must haveone yearof specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-07, which includes following: Experience with generally accepted accounting principles, processes and practices.
Experience utilizing automated financial systems and software to monitor, track, analyze, and report financial and project data.
Experience with computer software, such as Word, Excel, or other similar computer systems. To qualify on Education, you must have: Completion of two academic years of graduate level education OR
Master’s or equivalent graduate degree (such as LL.B. or J.D. as specified in qualification standards or individual occupational requirements in a field directly related to the position being filled). You can also qualify based on a combination of education and experience. For the GS-11, to qualify on Experience, you must haveone yearof specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-09, which includes the following: Experience interpreting laws, regulations, policies, procedures, guidelines, and other technical material related to financial programs.
Experience using program review and evaluating techniques to provide assistance with studies and analyses of financial management problems and financial management systems.
Experience applying generally accepted accounting principles, processes and practices in addition to applicable laws, procedures, and guidance involved in financial management issues. To qualify on Education, you must have: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
A LL.M., if related. You can also qualify based on a combination of education and experience.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
