INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this position is to supervise workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing work of the function. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service “under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709”, and is open ONLY to ON BOARD excepted military technicians within FMS #8 (Crystal River) in the Florida National Guard. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. TEMPORARY PROMOTION: This is an obligated position (the incumbent is on active military duty). This temporary promotion is for a limited time not to exceed 19 November 2019. If a permanent employee in the excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, exercises his/her rights within 5 years, the selected individual will have rights back to their previous position. Military Grades: Warrant Officer and Enlisted- E8 thru CW4 Compatible Military Assignments: WOBR: 25,91,92,94; WMOS: 882A; ECMF: 12, 13, 14, 19, 25, 88, 91, 92, 94. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WS-10 must have at least 36 mos experience or training diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying more complex vehicles, equipment, and more complicated systems. Experience which has provided a thorough knowledge of diagnostic equipment. Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve unusually complex maintenance and repair problems. Experienced in testing, inspecting, and evaluating the work performed on vehicles, equipment and systems. Experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function. Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes. Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.
