Qualification Summary
For the Attorney Advisor (General), GS-0905-14: Your resume must show that possess a degree in law (LL.B. or J.D.) from a school accredited by the American Bar Association, an active bar membership, in good standing, and am admitted to practice law in the highest court of the State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. In addition, I have professional legal experience in excess of 3 years: *administering comprehensive medico-legal counsel, direction and support on operational matters impacting health care delivery, health care programs, and
hospital systems in a military setting;
*formulating medico-legal strategies and solutions for hospital leadership and Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) under its jurisdiction;
*providing counsel in the specialized and complex area of medico-legal issues that are unique to Military Medicine including medical bioethics and protection of human subjects in research;
*consulting with leadership and health care providers on quality assurance/risk management programs. Applicant MUST meet the following qualification requirements of the Department of Defense Instruction (DODI) 1442.02: Education: Must have a LL.B or J.D. Degree from an ABA accredited law school. Education must be accredited by and accrediting institution
recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications. Therefore, provide only the attendance and/
or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. (http://www.ed.gov/admins/
finaid/accred/) Bar Membership: Must currently be a member in good standing from the bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory,
or the District of Columbia. NOTE: All applicants must submit the following documents by the closing date of this announcement or you will be rated ineligible: A resume and writing sample of two pages or less. The writing sample may be an excerpt of a longer document but shall not exceed two pages
in actual length. An official certificate issued within the past three (3) months showing the applicant is a member in good standing of the highest court of a state,
territory, commonwealth, or District of Columbia, or sufficient proof that the same has been requested with the appropriate licensing authority. An official transcript of the applicant’s law school record together with an official statement of his/her relative standing in his/her class. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
