Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Laborer~ without more than normal supervision. . Performed simple manual tasks that require a basic understanding of cleaning, grounds maintenance and lifting procedures; performed routine operator maintenance of hand tools and equipment; safely used industrial cleaners (typically used in households) and basic hand and yard tools and equipment, such as a rake, pitch fork, wheelbarrow, hand-pump sprayer, hand truck, shovel, push lawn mower (manual), hammer, screwdriver, wrench, and pliers; and performed routine work assignments with little or no assistance (e.g., picking up all paper and trash around the work site three times a week) – Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Screen OutAbility To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading)Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentWork Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean and in order) PHYSICAL EFFORT: Exerts very heavy physical effort in doing such tasks as frequently lifting and moving objects weighing over 50 pounds, running power mowers on grades or pushing heavy wheel barrow loads of concrete, etc. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works outside in all kinds of weather, and inside in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. Equipment, tools, and tasks involved at this level frequently require special care to avoid serious injuries. Work on and around river or lake structures involves hazards of falling and drowning. Work requires continuous standing, walking, and stooping.
