Today is Singer Jagjit Singh’s Death Anniversary. This day in 2011, Bollywood and the art world lost an iconic singer-composer-musician. Born Jagmohan Singh Dhiman, he is called as the Ghazal King. His wife, Chitra Singh is also a famous Ghazal singer. Their work in Arth (1983) and Saath Saath (1982) is an all-time favorite release by the Music Company HMV. Padma Bhushan Jagjit Singh’s double non-film album with Lata Mangeshkar – Sajda (1991) is also considered to have achieved the same status in the music industry.
