Vinyl– “Desertshore” by Nico


Now available in the LemonWire vinyl store, “Desertshore” by German singer, Nico. “Desertshores” is the singer’s third solo album and fourth studio album. Released in 1970, it has earned critical acclaim from critics and performers who have cited her work as influential.
And maybe that is one of the most important selling points of this album. That other performers find Nico’s work compelling and influential. Morrissey and Throbbing Gristle are among the performers citing Nico as an influence. Throbbing Gristle went so far as to re-record “Desertshores” with a cadre of guest singers in a project called X-TG. The project was released in 2012.
Included on this unique album is “All That Is My Own,” “The Falconer,’ and “Janitor Of Lunacy.” A must-have classic from the late singer.

Dodie Miller-Gould is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana who lives in New York City where she studies creative nonfiction at Columbia University. She has BA and MA degrees in English from Indiana University-Purdue University, Fort Wayne, and an MFA in Fiction from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She has presented at numerous conferences in rhetoric and composition, and creative writing. Her creative works have appeared in Tenth Muse, Apostrophe, The Flying Island, Scavenger's Newsletter and elsewhere. She has won university-based awards for creative work and literary criticism.
