Producer and Musician JMSN (prn. Jameson) Plays Indy’s Hi-Fi on September 24th!
The Autumnal Equinox is almost here, bringing falling leaves and cooler weather. So, with that in mind, why not celebrate the change in seasons with a night out at the Hi-Fi? Especially since on the 24th we can expect a visit from none other than JMSN himself. The singer-songwriter, producer, and music video director is in Fountain Square for one night only, so come out and see what he has to offer!
A Brief History
Christian Berishaj was born in in Dallas, Texas but grew up in the Detroit area. He showed an early interest in music, learning the guitar at age four and using Pro Tools by the age of twelve. Of course, a garage band was the next logical step, he called his Snowhite a name which he also used for himself while performing. Unlike most garage bands, he actually managed to secure a recording contract with Atlantic records, releasing an entirely self-produced album under the name Love Arcade. The band subsequently broke up, but Berishaj was undeterred.
In 2012, Berishaj released his first album under the name JMSN, Priscilla. Unlike his previous efforts, which were pop-rock with some electronic elements, Priscilla had a melancholic, hazy R&B sound. JMSN also directed a series of music videos to accompany the albums released.
Since then, JMSN has continued to release his own work, but has also produced for several prominent artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Mac Miller.
JMSN deals chiefly in languid R&B that relies very heavily on his production. Complex, multilayered vocals create an almost smothering atmosphere while the instrumentation drives the song on. Key to JMSN’s sound is his insistence on playing all the instrumental parts himself, bringing him more in line with indie artists in terms of production, if not sound.
So, as always. The venue is the Hi-Fi, door’s at 7:00PM.
See you there!
