Bollywood Celebrates Teacher’s Day

Bollywood celebrates Teacher’s Day today, with the nation. Late Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on this day in 1888. Dr. Radhakrishnan was the first Vice President of India (1952-1962) and second President of India (1962-1967). Since he had a teaching background, his birthday is celebrated as the Teacher’s Day in India. I for one am the product of the teachings of good teachers. The teachings of my teachers from my school, college and university are still with me.

I am still in touch with my university guide Dr. (Mrs.) Daruwala. She has always inspired me. Whenever I feel low, I remember what she kept telling me often – When one door closes, another opens. She does not want to take credit for saying this and told me that she had read it somewhere. This is how real teachers should be. Daruwala Ma’am has inspired me even after I completed my M.Sc. in Plant Anatomy under her. Let’s see how Bollywood Celebrates Teacher’s Day.
