Singer S P Balasubramaniam’s Birthday

My favorite South Indian male singer S P Balasubramaniam was born this day in 1946. Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanyam is also called SPB or Balu in short. He is a Padma Shri as well as Padma Bhushan recipient. He has not just sung for Bollywood, Tamil Telugu and Kannada movies among others, but also composed music and produced movies. That is not all. He has recorded more than 40000 songs in 16 languages. He is one of the most versatile artists in India and has made it to the Guinness World Records for singing the maximum movie songs. He has bagged many awards and accolades including the Silver Peacock Medal (2016).

Bollywood and SPB: Here are some of my favorite songs sung by him:

Wah wah Ramji… Hum Aapke Hain Kaun (1994)

Gopala Gopala… Humse Hai Muqabala (1994)

Yeh haseen wadiyan… Roja (1992)

Sathiya yeh tune kya kiya… Love (1991)

Unse milne ki tamanna hai… Saajan (1991)

Tumse jo dekhte hi pyar hua… Patthar Ke Phool (1991)

Tum ladki ho… Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)

Hum bane tum bane… Ek Duje Ke Liye (1981)
