Movie: This song appeared in Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision’s action comic caper Golmaal 3 (Deception with Confusion) directed by Rohit Shetty and produced by Dhillin Mehta. The movie starred Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Mithun Chakraborty, Ratna Pathak Shah, Kunal Khemu, etc. This movie followed the Golmaal Series post Golmaal Returns (2008). Golmaal 3 is a copy of Khatta Meetha (1978); which was, in turn, a remake of Yours, Mine and Ours (1968). After Golmaal 3 was released, it was remade into the Telugu Pandavulu Pandavulu Tummada (2014).
This song appears at the beginning of the movie.
Song: The lyrics of this song were penned by Kumaar and the music was composed by Pritam Chakraborty.
The gist of the song is, “Deception and confusion are back again. Our activity is different from others. We are different in color as well. We are thieves. Save your hearts from us.”
Video: Cinematography is by Dudley. Dance choreography is by Ganesh Acharya-Seema Desai-Chinni Prakash-Rajeev Surti.
The video opens with the lead actors turning around sitting inside a netted single swing, in separate shots. This time, Ajay Devgn is standing on 2 cars. You will ask what is different about that. He did that in the previous Golmaal as well. This time, the cars themselves are moving on only 2 of their tyres. One car is turned to the right and the other to the left. I wonder what he will be doing in the next installment of the Golmaal Series.
Anyways, in the next shots, Arshad Warsi and Kareena Kapoor are seen dancing, separately in tune with the song. In fact, there are 2 separate sequences going on over a single screen. Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor are also seen singing and dancing in a typically Golmaal way. Some shots from the movie are also shown.
Even Ajay Devgn is seen singing, individually and with Kareena Kapoor. They also perform on the song. Kunal Khemu is also present. The lead artists are also seen together. Kareena Kapoor is also seen dancing with some female dancers. Soon, the song peters out and the video ends as the lead artists are seen standing on the wall near a sheer cliff, with their backs to the camera.
Artists: The playback of this song was sung by K K, Anushka Manchanda and Monali Thakur and the onscreen performances are by Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu and others.
Cultural Influence: There is no special cultural influence on this typically filmi song. The song and the artists are ok. The video is a repetition of the songs appearing in the previous installments of the Golmaal Series.
