International Dance Day is a global event celebrated by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute the main performing arts partner of UNESCO on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810). Jean-Georges Noverre is the inventor of modern ballet.
