In the aftermath of Record Store Day, Broad Ripple kept the good vibes going by stretching it into the weekend. Sunday was the day of Indy CD & Vinyl’s outdoor music fest. The day was full of musical guests, and catering from several local restaurants and bars.
In the alley around the corner from Indy CD & Vinyl a stage was set up for all of the performing bands. The Kolman Dental and Klipsch Audio Stage featured a special performance from Addison Agen, star of NBC’s “The Voice”. Additional acts included local performers Brother O’ Brother, Ritual Howls, Michael Raintree, BYBYE, KO, and many more.
Food & Drink
Drinks were provided by a beer garden featuring beers from Dogfish Head Brewing Company and Average Joe’s in Broad Ripple. Local restaurants providing food included Kuma’s Corner and food truck from Union Jack’s Pub. And if that isn’t enough, beginning on Record Store Day, HopCat will be giving out free crack fries for anyone who brings in a receipt from Indy CD & Vinyl.
Attendees who purchased beer or food from the vendors received a red ticket with a raffle number on it. In between musical acts, co-owner of Indy CD & Vinyl Andy Skinner raffled off free concert tickets and other prizes.
While the bands played, families enjoyed the kid’s zone, which included face painting and games. The kid’s zone was sponsored by Girls Rock! Indy, a non-profit organization that hosts a summer camp for girls aged 9-16, as well as year-round community workshops and events for all ages.
After a weekend long celebration of music and community, this year’s Record Store Day only left us more excited to see what next year will bring.
