Vinyl enthusiasts rejoice! This weekend is the perfect time to add to your vinyl collection. Record Store Day is coming up, and if you’re in the Broad Ripple area, Indy CD & Vinyl should be the first and possibly only stop on your list.
Record Store Day
On Saturday, April 21st, Record Store Day begins at Indy CD & Vinyl. Early risers can enjoy free coffee and first pick out of all the limited-release records available on Record Store Day. Along with that, you can expect goodie bags, and chances to win free concert tickets with purchases at Indy CD & Vinyl.
In celebration of Record Store Day, starting at noon on Saturday, Indy CD & Vinyl’s indoor stage will be featuring musical artists throughout the day. Musical acts for the day will include Nicholas Rowe, Chives, Mark Tester, Evan Snyder, David Peck, Duchess, and Chad Lehr.
Also, if you’re of legal drinking age, beer will be available from Average Joe’s next door, as well as Dogfish Head Brewing Company. Indy CD & Vinyl is also the official Record Store Day store of both WTTS 92.3 FM and Dogfish Head.
Record Store Weekend
This year, Indy CD & Vinyl isn’t just going to stop with one day. Instead, they’ll be extending the festivities throughout the weekend with an outdoor concert presented by Kolman Dental in Broad Ripple.
The concert will be featuring a special appearance by Addison Agen of NBC’s “The Voice”, along with a wealth of local talent. Some of the musical guests for Sunday are Ritual Howls, Michael Raintree, BYBYE, Brother O’ Brother, Sarah Grain, and more. There will also be music tailored for kids and families from 10:00 am to noon.
Along with live music, you can also expect to find some great deals for food from local restaurants and pubs. Sunday will feature a beer garden at Average Joe’s with Dogfish Head beers on tap. Food sponsors include Union Jack, Hopcat, and Kuma’s Corner, to name a few.
And of course, for families and kids there will also be a kids’ zone with face painting, games, and balloons for the little ones to enjoy.
We’ll be there covering the whole weekend for anyone who can’t make it, but urge all vinyl enthusiasts to not miss the best time to grab your favorite record. Doors open at 8:00 am at Indy CD & Vinyl this Saturday. If I were you, I wouldn’t miss the free coffee.
