Next Wednesday, The Vogue in downtown Broad Ripple will be hosting a concert for those looking to celebrate hump day by hitting the town. The musical guest for the night will be Margo Price, joined by Blackfoot Gypsies.
Margo Price is a modern traditional country artist from Nashville, Tennessee. Her debut album, “Midwest Farmer’s Daughter” came out in the spring of 2016. Her sophomore release, “All American Made”, came out last year, and is available to stream on Margo Price’s Bandcamp page.
In the fast-paced world of the internet age, music listeners don’t usually have much patience when it comes to discovering new artists. If you can’t hook them in, you lose them. According her Facebook profile, however, “…it only takes Margo Price about twenty-eight seconds to convince you that you’re hearing the arrival of a singular new talent”.
Margo Price is the front-woman of her backing band. The entire lineup consists of Margo Price (guitar, vocals), Jamie Davis (lead guitar), Kevin Black (bass), Luke Schneider (pedal steel, dobro), Dillon Napier (drums), Jeremy Ivey (harmonica, guitar), and Micah Hulscher (keys). The Blackfoot Gypsies are a rock and roll, blues garage band, also from Nashville, Tennessee. According to their Facebook profile, “Blackfoot Gypsies have shared bills with everyone from the Alabama Shakes and Trampled by Turtles to Futurebirds, The Ettes and The Carolina Chocolate Drops”.
Blackfoot Gypsies released their full length debut album “On The Loose” in 2012. Since then, the band has released two additional albums. These are “Handle It” in 2015, and their most recent, “To The Top” which came out in 2017.
