Preview: Coast Modern at The Hi-Fi


Next Thursday, April 5th, The Hi-Fi in Fountain Square will be welcoming three bands from all over the place. There’s Coast Modern from Los Angeles, California, Bad Bad Hats from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Tri Patterns from Indianapolis.

Coast Modern

Coast Modern is an indie pop duo that started making music in 2015, the same year they released their debut single, “Hollow Life”. Their most recent release, as well as their first full length, self-titled album, came out just last year.You can listen to all of their music on SoundCloud.

Bad Bad Hats

Bad Bad Hats is an alternative pop band from Minneapolis. They released their debut EP “Grow Up” in 2012. Since then, they released the single “That Don’t Impress Me Much”, and the EP “It Hurts” in 2013. Bad Bad Hats’ most recent album “Psychic Reader” came out in 2015. Bad Bad Hats consists of Kerry Alexander (vocals, guitar, rhodes), Chris Hodge (guitar, bass, drum, synth), and Noah Boswell (bass). To find out more, you can visit their website. You can also find Bad Bad Hats on Facebook.

Tri Patterns

Tri patterns is a local Indianapolis indie pop band. So far, the only release they have available is their single, “Shadows”. The song came out in both an acoustic version in 2017, and a full version in 2018. You can listen to both on Bandcamp.

The show with Coast Modern, Bad Bad Hats, and Tri Patterns starts at 9:00 pm on Thursday, April 5th. Doors to The Hi-Fi open at 8:00 pm. Tickets to the show are fifteen dollars if bought in advance, and eighteen at the door.
